Periodic Inspection | Testing and Inspection Periodic Inspection - Fixed Wire Testing All electrical installations should be subject to periodic inspection and testing to prevent:
- Damage through wear and tear
- Corrosion
- Excessive electrical loading
- Ageing
- Environmental influences
Legislation requires that certain electrical installations are maintained in a safe condition and therefore must be regularly tested.
Periodic inspection and electrical installation testing should be considered if:
- It is a requirement implied by Licensing Authorities, Public Bodies, Insurance Companies, Mortgagors and Landlords.
- Additionally, to assess compliance with the current IEE Wiring Regulations.
- On a change of ownership or tenancy of the premises.
- On a change of use of the premises.
- After alterations to the original installation.
- Because of any significant change in the electrical loading of the installation.
- Where there is a reason to believe that damage may have been caused.
Maximum periods allowed between each periodic inspection for PA testing:
